The Handle

During an emergency, it is crucial for the airbag to be deployed quickly and easily. Research has revealed that in high-pressure situations, many individuals struggle to activate the airbag. Snowpulse's Spire LT P.A.S Vest 3.0 features a new deployment handle that is designed to be more intuitive and can be adjusted to fit the wearer's height. The handle is now a bright orange color, ensuring it is highly visible. Additionally, the handle can be folded for convenient storage in the shoulder strap.

The Inflation System

The Inflation System 3.0 within the Highmark SPIRE Vest is responsible for deploying the airbag. This system efficiently activates the deployment mechanism by releasing the pressure cartridge with a pin and inflating the airbag. By also utilizing ambient air alongside stored gas, the integrated air volume amplifier successfully fills the airbag. One of Snowpulse's main goals in developing this system was to combine the air volume amplifier and deployment mechanism into a single housing, resulting in a more compact and lightweight design. In addition, the inflation system is known for its reliability, low maintenance, and user-friendly installation process - simply screw in the cartridge and you're good to go!

The Weight

The Snowpulse 3.0 is Snowpulse’s lightest airbag system of all time and weighs less than 1 liter of water. Consequently, at less than 1kg, this is the lightest system they have ever developed.

The Protection Airbag System (PAS)

The Mammut® Protection Airbag System is the newly developed version of the well-known Snowpulse® Lifebag System. The special shape of the airbag and its clever integration in different backpacks are unique features. The shape of the airbag protects the wearer’s head, neck and chest area from mechanical injuries and in the event of an avalanche ensures an optimal position by keeping the wearer’s head and upper body on the surface.

The Protection Airbag found in the Highmark SPIRE Avalanche Airbag Vest can not only help to prevent complete burial, it also offers additional protection from mechanical injuries. In addition to the safety features, we have succeeded in designing a completely “removable” airbag system. This allows the user to swap on the system between several backpacks, allowing him or her to always select the most suitable backpack for the relevant application.
