FEATURES

• Advanced shell design : This helmet features a thermo-injected shell made of a special polymer blend, with varying thicknesses, designed to provide an optimal balance between impact protection and lightness. The SM3 in medium size weighs 1430 g (ECE) and 1460 g (DOT).
• Ventilation : Maximum ventilation and excellent heat transfer thanks to 10 air inlets and 7 exhaust ports.
• Rotational force protection : An Alpinestars-patented low-friction coating is applied to the inside of the main EPS liner to reduce rotational acceleration forces that can result from certain angled impacts. This layer acts as a glide plane, mimicking the brain's cerebrospinal fluid, which is the body's natural defense against this type of impact.
• Visor release system : The patented visor release system ensures controlled detachment with a predetermined force, effectively reducing stress on the rider's neck during an impact.

CONSTRUCTION

• The internal and external surfaces are designed to reduce the effects of angled impacts.
• 5 internal EPS parts with 4 different densities effectively manage volume and performance in the event of an impact.
• Hydration tube channels are integrated into the helmet's cheek pads for added convenience and performance.
• The inner lining is made from recycled materials, reducing the carbon footprint.
• The fit can be customized with the inner shell and cheek pads available in different thicknesses as replacement parts.

• Alpinestars has implemented a new internal standard to test the SM3 helmet's chin bar resistance to more severe conditions than those required by official homologations. To meet this requirement, the shell thickness and chin bar structure have been optimized for superior impact performance.
• The internal and external surfaces are designed to mitigate the effects of angled impacts.
• Equipped with an emergency release system and removable cheek pads allowing safe and easy removal of the helmet, even when worn, while providing optimal comfort thanks to the contoured 3D foam.
• The soft 25 mm textile chin strap ensures increased safety and comfort.
• Stainless steel D-ring buckles ensure a tight and secure fit.
• The SM3 helmet is certified to DOT and ECE 2206 standards, making it compliant with requirements for use worldwide.
